MyUniversity website
On the 3rd April the Australian Government launched the MyUniversity website, aimed at providing potential students with more information to help them to decide where to study. The site features 39 universities, offers information for over a thousand course and a range of other information including the location of universities,course information,student services available at each university,campus facilities,results from student satisfaction surveys,a range of course information including cut-off scores and fees. Equity Scholarships & Educational Access Scheme
Both of these schemes are administered by UAC. The Educational Access Scheme (EAS) is a university entry scheme for UAC applicants who have experienced long-term educational disadvantage as a result of circumstances beyond their control or choosing while the Equity Scholarship aims to support financially disadvantaged students who may not otherwise have the opportunity or funds to go to university.

Alternative Entry Pathway
Want to go to Syndey Uni but can't afford to go next year or you didn't get the ATAR? Then have you considered the UNE & Sydney University's Alternative Entry Pathway program? This is only a new program ( in it's second year) and it gives current Yr 12 students the opportunity to receive an offer of a place at university based on the school Principal's recommendation rather than their final results. This is different to UNE's current Early Entry program in that after studying 1 year at UNE you can transfer to complete your degree at Sydney Uni. Of course there are some conditions you obviously have to pass all your first year course, you need to be eligible for Youth Allowance and you must not be deferring you study.

The Australian Catholic University offers a early entry program called Early Achiever's Program (EAP). Apply online at http://www.acu.edu.au/counts and receive an offer in the course of your choice ahead of normal tertiary admission announcements.They also offer a number of flexible study programs for indigenous students students including Associate Degrees in Indigenous Education, Early Childhood Education/ Teaching and Business Administration.

Macquarie University has just launched a bonus scheme for rural students. Rural students can now qualify for up to 9 bonus points onto their ATAR.

Offer an early entry program.

Southern Cross University
Offer an early entry program known as the Star Entry Scheme register online at http://www.scu.edu.au/star Southern Cross University also automatically adds 5 bonus ATAR points for students undertaking Year 12 studies within their feeder region.

University of Canberra
Offer a Principal's Recommendation Scheme.

University of New England
Offers an early entry scheme + 5 bonus points. Campus tours can be booked online at http://une.edu.au/campustours or by phoning 1800 818 865.

University of New South Wales
Offer up to 10 bonus points on some degree courses under their HSC Plus scheme including points for high academic achievement, Duke of Edinburugh award recipients and for being School Captain or even having an AMEB Grade 8 in Music. University of Queensland
Offer an access program and scholarships for school-leavers who have experienced educational disadvantage as a result of financial hardship. This is known as the UQ-Link Access Program and under this scheme students who satisfy the criteria automatically receive 5 bonus points onto their ATAR.

University of Newcastle
Current HSC students from regional or rural towns are automatically awarded an additional four bonus points to their ATAR through the University's Regional and Rural Preference Scheme. These points apply to all undergraduate degrees except Medicine. Open day 28th June in 2012.

University of Sydney

University of Technology, Sydney

University of Western Sydney
Offer any Early Entry Program, Regional Bonus Points and Subject Bonus Points for high performance in nominated subjects.

University of Wollongong
Early Entry scheme available for University of Wollongong. Applications open 1st July and close 30th September. To apply all you have to do is log on at www.uow.edu.au/future/earlyentry/index.html and complete the application form. They also offer an alternative entry program, in conjunction with Wollongong College Australia (WCA), for students who do not receive the required ATAR fro entry into their desired course. Students who successfully compete the WCA program are guaranteed a place into their nominated degree course, provided other entry requirements are met. The University also offers a STEP to UOW program for students who have experienced disadvantage while studying their HSC.
